 Directors
Meet Larry Rathbun and Cathy Keiser!  Larry Rathbun ( e-mail now) graduated from Chadron State College, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education. He has taught in Nebraska and Kansas for a combined 29 years. Mr. Rathbun is currently in his third year serving as director of bands at Millard North High School, where he directs the marching bands, concert band, wind ensemble and the jazz 1 ensemble. He also teaches AP Music Theory, International Baccalaureate SL Music, and Music Consumer. Mr. Rathbun is an active member of the Nebraska Education Association, the Millard Public Schools Education Association, the Nebraska Music Educators Association, and the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association. He served as Awards Chair on the NSBA Executive Board from 2003 – 2006. In 2005, Larry was inducted into the Chadron State College Hall of Fame. Larry is a member of Phi Beta Mu, and serves as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the state of Nebraska. Larry enjoys spending time with his wife, Laurie. Golf and motorcycling are two of his favorite pastimes.
 Cathy Keiser ( e-mail now) is a 1980 graduate of the University of South Dakota where she received her Bachelor of Music Education. She received her Masters Degree in Music from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in May of 2005. Catherine has been a recipient of the Jack R. Snider Outstanding Young Band Director Award given by the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association, and has served as Treasurer and President of that organization. In addition, she is a charter member of Phi Beta Mu, and International Band Fraternity, where she served as Treasurer for three years. Mrs. Keiser team taught the band and choir at Boys Town High School with her husband Richard for nineteen years and received Boys Town’s “Most Valuable Player” award in 1993. In addition, she is a 2006 recipient in the Marquis’ Who’s Who in America. Mrs. Keiser is currently the assistant band director at Millard North High School in Omaha and continues to judge and conduct honor bands throughout the Midwest.
